Colorado Rockies vs. Baltimore Orioles

While I have already visited all 30 Major League ballparks, this visit to Coors Field on September 2 to watch the Colorado Rockies take on the Baltimore Orioles means I can now say I have seen them all since 2022. To pull this off, I did a single-day fly-in, fly-out: flying in from Minnesota on Wednesday morning to arrive for the game, and heading right back home on Wednesday night after the final out.
- 2nd visit to Busch Stadium
- 3rd different ballpark watching the Orioles
For this milestone trip, my single-day fly-in, fly-out adventure felt like a great repeat of my last one to Seattle last year, and this might just become a regular annual travel style for me. One of the absolute best parts of the trip is the train directly from the Denver Airport to downtown, which makes getting straight to the game incredibly convenient.

Ballpark Features
This was my first time at Coors Field since 2021, making it feel almost like a new ballpark. This time around, I gave myself plenty of time before the game to explore and pick up souvenirs that I’ve started collecting since my last visit.

One of my favorite pre-game stops was walking up to the upper level to see the famous row of purple seats that mark an elevation of 5,280 feet—one mile above sea level.
Seat Selection

Section 124 Row 21
For less than $30, I picked up a ticket for a seat in the lower level on the first base side right behind the Rockies’ dugout. My initial seat was right in the sun, so throughout the game, I sometimes moved up rows to catch some shade. As the game went on—especially as it stretched into extra innings—I took the opportunity to move closer to the field.
Ballpark Food of Choice

BOGO Hot Dogs
It was a Rockies Buy One Get One hot dog day, so I bought two hot dogs in what became an affordable ballpark option. Along with the souvenir soda, it looked and tasted like traditional ballpark fare.
Game Highlights

The series finale at Coors Field turned into a thrilling, extra-inning rollercoaster as the Rockies mounted a late comeback to edge out the Orioles 6-5 in 11 frames.
- Orioles starting pitcher Trevor Rogers put on a dominant performance, racking up a career-high 11 strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
- Newly acquired Luis Robert Jr. made his presence felt for Baltimore, driving in his first O’s hit with a clutch two-run double.
- Down late, the Rockies clawed their way back, tying the game in the 9th inning to send it into extra frames.
- In the bottom of the 11th inning with two outs, Brett Sullivan delivered a dramatic walk-off single, driving home Adael Amador to give the Rockies a 6–5 victory.
After the final out, I hopped on the train and headed back to the airport to get ready for my flight back home.
